River Crossing Torch Puzzle-Answer

Here we have to make sure that people who take more time cross the bridge together and none of them comes back. It means Garry and David cross the bridge together and they don't need to come back. So here is how this can be done.
John (1 min) and Tom (2 mins) cross the bridge carrying the torch (Total = 2mins)
John (1 min) comes back with the torch (Total = 3 mins)
Garry(7 mins) and David (10 mins) take the torch and cross the bridge (Total = 13 mins)
Tom (2 mins) comes back with the torch (Total = 15 mins)
Lastly, John (1 min) and Tom (2 mins) cross the bridge carrying the torch (Total = 17 mins)
So John along with his friends is successfully able to cross the bridge in 17 minutes, just before the bridge collapses.
