I am teaching few kids Sudoku variations on weekends. Now my students are very comfortable with two easy Sudoku types Even-Odd Sudoku and Trio Sudoku. I want to introduce them to the converse rules of Sudoku puzzles. First I thought that I will introduce Consecutive Sudoku to them. However, it would have been confusing to small kids. So I created this variation Odd-Even Consecutive Sudoku. This Sudoku variation is nothing but an Odd-Even Sudoku in a different presentation. The first one needs to mark Even and Odd cells in the Sudoku and then solve this Sudoku as Even-Odd Sudoku. Kids loved this variation when I introduced them to this variation. They also understood the concept of the converse rule. Another thing they learned is the importance of good notations in Sudoku solving as this Sudoku type requires one to mark Even and Odd cells.
