9+8=17 Sudoku (Fun With Sudoku #34)

It was the 2nd World Sudoku Championship 2007 in Prague, Czech Republic which introduced us to so many new variations. In this Championship, there were more than 50 new Sudoku variations. Maybe being new to Sudoku solving everything which appeared in this championship looked like new variations to us. Anyway, to prepare for this World Sudoku Championship 2007 we decide to create as many puzzles as possible, and this puzzle I created this for Team India practice.
Maybe this type of puzzle appeared later with many different names but I am retaining this name as 9+8=17 Sudoku as this name appeared in the first version of this puzzle.

Rules of 9+8=17 Sudoku

Classic Sudoku Rules apply. Additionally, small clue numbers are either placed on the border lines between selected pairs of neighboring squares of the grid or placed after slash marks on the intersections of border lines between two diagonally adjacent squares. Each small clue number is the sum of two digits in the two squares that are horizontally or vertically or diagonally adjacent to each other. The position of each pair of diagonally adjacent squares is indicated by either two forward slash marks // or two backward slash marks \\.
